21st Century Skills Maps

The Partnership for 21st Century Skills has teemed up with the National Association of Social Studies Teachers, and the National Council of Teachers of English to create 21st Century skills maps for each of the two disciplines.

Even if you don't teach either subject, you can certainly benefit from reading the lesson suggestions on the maps.

One very important aspect of technology integration is not to add something extra to the class or the teacher load, but to use technology to teach what you've always taught. These skills maps really help with that.

You can download the social studies map here and the English map here.

You should also visit the P21 website, look around, see what you can learn, and what you can use to help prepare your students for college and the 21st Century work force.

I know it takes time. I know you have tons to do. But if you're like me, you want to learn as much as you can to help your students, so try to find some time to check it out.
