This may come as a surprise to many, but Google is not the only search engine. Okay, so I'm being a bit facetious, but really, I think we "over-google."
I know for certain that our students use Google almost exclusively, and we need to teach them to go beyond that one site, and in the process, learn to do that ourselves.
I was excited when I found this site through my PLN. (That's a Personal Learning Network.) I don't remember if it was my RSS feed, Twitter, or some other resource, but this site offers an awesome lesson for helping our students to expand their research on the web.
Please visit Ten Steps to Better Web Research and try putting the steps into practice yourself, and then use them with your students. You never what's out there on the web just waiting to be used in a project.
