Did you know that Google Earth and Google Maps are powerful learning tools? I always use Google Earth when I go to a new city to find restaurants and attractions (besides the baseball games I'm going to see) near where I stay. But Google Earth is so much more than that. For one thing, it's interactive. You and your students can add content. And it's getting better with every new version. If you have no idea how you could use Google Earth or Google Maps in your classes, check out these video tutorials at YouTube. I have tons more to learn about both, so I will be watching them, too. I found these links on the blog Free Technology for Teachers, which is one of my RSS subscriptions in Google Reader.
